Becky Corley is the owner and director of DALLAS/MUSIC, a music school with students ranging in age from infants to 85 years. Becky earned two degrees from Southern Methodist University – the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and the Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy. She was on the staff of SMU for 20 years, teaching in the Piano Preparatory Department, developing elementary curriculum, and teaching piano pedagogy courses.
Becky is a nationally certified member of Music Teachers National Association. She has served on the board of Dallas Music Teachers Association for over 15 years and is a past-president of that organization.
Becky has 2 grown children – Rachel (and her husband Jason) and Charlie. Both studied piano through 12th grade – did they have a choice? – and they both have a piano in their home and play for fun. Her husband Mike can't play anything – but he surely has gone to a lot of recitals!
Becky is one of those lucky people who gets to have a job that is invig-orating, challenging, rewarding, and fun!
Jenni VerHagen has been with Dallas/Music since it began in 1988. She is Assistant Director of the school, co-ordinates the First Movement program, and teaches piano and theory.
Jenni was born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She attended Millsaps College in Jackson where she studied piano with Jonathan Sweat and received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. After Millsaps, Jenni came to Dallas and attended SMU where she studied pedagogy with Louise Bianchi and piano with David Karp. At SMU she earned the Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy. While at SMU, she also worked under Becky Corley who was on the staff there. A few years later, when Becky started Dallas/Music in a house that she and Mike owned in University Park, she hired Jenni as one of the "master teachers." They forged a working relationship and friendship that has helped sustain Dallas/Music as one of the premier music schools in Dallas since its inception.
Jenni lives in the country outside of Heath (Rockwall) with her husband Glen, their 5 children--Derek, Drew, Sarah, Graham, and Charlie, their hyperactive and very sweet dog Scout, and their ferocious cat KitKat.
Stathia was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Ursuline Academy, Stathia got her Bachelor of Arts in Music at Austin College, in Sherman, Texas. She then started working at Dallas/Music teaching piano in student's homes. Stathia quickly started teaching the preschool and baby classes at Dallas/Muisc in addition to piano. Stathia is married to Brian, and they have two children- Dominic, 6 yrs, and Juliette, 3 ½ yrs.
Stathia loves teaching and strives to keep a great balance between being a mom and teaching music.

Leonardo Zuno was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Mr. Zuno is a graduate of SMU, having obtained two master's degrees (in piano performance and pedagogy and in music theory). He studied piano under Dr. Richard Baca and Prof. Alfred Mouledous and piano pedagogy with Drs. Pete Jutras, Sam Holland, Cathy Lysinger, and Mr. Matthew Kline. His music theory training under Drs. Barbara Wallace, David Mancini, Jacquelyn Hale, and Robert Frank has had a significant impact on his pedagogical philosophy, as he seeks the integration of both disciplines to help students in becoming independent learners and complete musicians.
Mr. Zuno is an adjunct lecturer at the Meadows School of the Arts in SMU, where he has taught courses in music theory, aural skills, and class piano to both graduate and undergraduate students. Besides his college teaching, Mr. Zuno is a piano and music theory instructor at Dallas/Music, Inc., a private community school, where he teaches both individually and in group settings. He is a board member for Dallas Music Teachers Association, where he has served as the theory chairman and web coordinator. Mr. Zuno has also volunteered his time with Texas Music Teachers Association, writing theory tests for children across the state, and offering feedback to the theory advisory committee for TMTA. He also adjudicates around the DFW metroplex in festivals and contests. He has also taught theory and keyboard skills classes at the National Piano Institute for Teachers and Young Artists at SMU. In his free time, Mr. Zuno enjoys running and cycling, cooking and entertaining friends, and going to live music events of all types.

Favorite thing about teaching: It’s fun to interact with kids (and adults) and see htem get excited when they start to “get it” and have breakthroughs, and then start to own it.
Anything else? I play in a jazz quartet every Wednesday 9:30-12:30 at the Balcony Club in Lakewood. My students do acoustic recitals and an electric guitar show each spring. I have taught in the Park Cities since 1994.

Miss Austin began her study of the piano at age three. At nine she added cello, a fortuitous choice of a second instrument, which allowed her to develop a heightened sensitivity and awareness in the performance of the stringed instrument repertoire. She received her Bachelor of Music degree, magna cum laude, as well as her Master of Music in piano performance at SMU. While at SMU, Miss Austin also continued her study of cello and did extensive work in piano pedagogy, chamber music, and accompanying. She received the Paul Vellucci Award for outstanding senior pianist and the Sigma Alpha Iota Award for outstanding ensemble player. Miss Austin was the soloist in the North American premier of the Piano Concerto #2 by Robert X. Rodriguez. She has recorded on the CoDa and DBH labels.
Miss Austin is a freelance pianist for the Dallas Symphony and is accompanist and coach for their Young Strings program. She is staff accompanist for the Lynn Harrell Competition and accompanied for the TASOL Juanita Miller Competition and the 2004 ASTA National Solo Competition. She has worked with students of Perlman and Midori, as well as performing with members of the DSO and their students. Miss Austin performs regularly with metroplex students and professionals of all instruments, specializing in violin, cello, clarinet, and flute repertoire. She has performed in many other U.S. cities, as well as in Canada. She also teaches adult piano students at Dallas/Music in Snider Plaza.
William Foley received a degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas. He will teach jazz improvisation, new age, and pop styles to students who want a new direction in their piano studies. Some piano experience is required. William is excited about joining Dallas/Music and teaching students "how to unleash their own creative possibilities".
As a talented and versatile musician, Jo Zhou began her piano studies at the age of three and has since been performing, competing and winning several area piano competitions. As a pupil of José Feghali, Gold Medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Jo continued her training at Texas Christian University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.M. in Piano Performance. She recently finished her M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Southern Methodist University under a full Artistic Scholarship, and is currently pursuing a Performance Diploma at SMU with both Dr. Carol Leone and Joaquin Achúcarro. Other principals teachers include Lois Nielson, Bo Pang, and Dr. Donna Edwards on piano; Dr. Joseph Butler and Dr. Larry Palmer on organ; and Dr. Herman Gutierrez in conducting.
As an informed music educator, Jo currently serves on faculty at Dallas/Music as well as at SMU's Piano Preparatory Department as a Teaching Fellow. In addition to private and group piano instruction, Jo has also taught music history and piano at the National Piano Institute for Young Artists for the past two summers. She recently gave a masterclass at the 2010 Texas Music Teachers Association Convention and has adjudicated for several local area pre-college piano festivals. She is an active member of the Dallas Music Teachers Association, the American Guild of Organists, and the Society for Music Perception and Cognition.
Recent performances include performances in Salzburg, Austria at the International Mozarteum Summer Academy; a solo recital with Mu Phi Epsilon's Concert Series in downtown Dallas; concerts with Grammy-award winning new music ensemble eighth blackbird; performances in Boston with New England Conservatory's Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice; an appearance at Crighton Theater in Conroe, TX; and with ensemble75 at Steinway Hall Dallas.
When time allows, Jo enjoys the outdoors, Ultimate Frisbee, travel, and music cognition research.
Born in Montréal, Quebec, Canada, to French Canadian parents, Myriam Clermont began her violin lessons at age 4. When her family moved to the United States 6 years later, she learned English as her second language and continued her violin education in Pittsburgh, PA. From 1996-2002, Myriam's skills developed rapidly under the instruction of violinist Hong-Guang Jia, assistant concertmaster of Pittsburgh Symphony. In 1998-1999, she served as Concertmaster in the Cleveland Youth Symphony and also performed in the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra. In 2000, Myriam took part in the Duquesne Young Artist Competition and was awarded 1st Place in the Concerto Division and 2nd Place in the Solo Violin Division. She also performed in the position of Concertmaster in the University Philharmonic Orchestra from 2000-2002. In May 2001, she was awarded the prestigious position of Soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In the same year, Myriam participated in the Meadowmount Summer Music Festival. For 2 years, beginning in 2002, she studied violin under Stephen Shipps, Professor of Violin. In 2004, Myriam attended the Aspen Music Festival and School, where in 2005, she studied under Instructor Naoko Tanaka (Juillard) and was Assistant Concertmaster that year. From 2004-2006, Myriam studied under Yehonatan Berick, Associate Professor of Violin, at the University of Michigan. In 2005-2006, she held the position of Principal Violin in the University Philharmonic Orchestra.
A consummate academician, Myriam Clermont pursued double majors in Physics and Violin Performance at the University of Michigan. In 2006, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance. Myriam was awarded membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Golden Key International Honor Society. In 2008, Myriam Clermont moved to Dallas, TX to pursue graduate studies. In 2009, she taught as a Violin Instructor with Providence Music Academy and has also kept a regular schedule of teaching private in-home violin lessons.
